Navigation Patterns
- Use Tab to move forward through interactive elements
- Use Shift + Tab to move backward
- Press Enter or Space to activate buttons
- Use arrow keys to navigate within menus and lists
- Press Esc to close modals and dropdown menus
ARIA Implementation
VetGeni uses ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to enhance screen reader support:

attributes define the purpose of custom elements- Focus management ensures logical navigation flow
Color Contrast & Visual Design
All text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards:
- Normal text: minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1
- Large text: minimum contrast ratio of 3:1
- Interactive elements have visible focus indicators
- Color is never the sole indicator of meaning
Screen Reader Support
VetGeni is tested with major screen readers:
- NVDA (Windows)
- JAWS (Windows)
- VoiceOver (macOS/iOS)
- TalkBack (Android)
Technical Documentation
For developers and administrators:
- GPT-4.1 implementation logs include full prompts and completion IDs
