Confirm this hospital before downloading

VetGeni checks the live Cornerstone staff roster, patient sources, and note templates on this computer. A new clinic can download the connector first; once it is running, finish these confirmations before downloading updates or alternate installers.

Your Cornerstone staff record

Choose your live Cornerstone staff record. VetGeni uses its staff ID to split the check-ins board into your patients vs everyone else's.

Where do your patients live in Cornerstone?

Every clinic runs Cornerstone differently - front-desk census, the scheduler, the whiteboard, or a mix. This analyzes the last 30 days (read-only) and recommends what the check-ins board should read.

How your notes get written into Cornerstone

Choose two different jobs for your clinic's templates. The preferred document and any allowed alternatives must already exist within the current 24-hour visit window. The backup is the only generic medical record VetGeni may create.

Existing documents — never created

VetGeni tries the preferred document first, then an allowed existing alternative. If an existing document cannot be opened safely, VetGeni stops instead of creating a duplicate.

Preferred clinic template: Not selected · No alternatives selected

Backup document — creation allowed

Generic medical record created only when no preferred or allowed existing document is present in the last 24 hours.

After VetGeni creates the backup note

Some hospitals require the newly created Medical Note window to be closed with its X so Cornerstone commits it. This applies only to notes VetGeni creates from the backup template; an existing doctor document is never auto-closed.

Stepped setup
1

Download on the Cornerstone workstation

Use the per-user setup for the easiest install, or choose the MSI when clinic IT manages the workstation.

2

Run the installer

Double-click the downloaded file. If Chrome asks about the download, choose Keep. If Windows SmartScreen says Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway. The installer is signed by VetGeni, LLC, and the per-user setup does not need admin credentials.

3

Open VetGeni

Refresh VetGeni after install. VetGeni talks to the connector on this computer using 127.0.0.1.

4

Confirm clinic workflow

Set the doctor initials and confirm which Cornerstone workflow should feed the VetGeni check-ins board.

How to use it day to day
1

Check patients in as usual

Patients checked into Cornerstone appear on the VetGeni Case Dashboard check-in board automatically. Claim yours to open the case — no manual patient entry.

2

Work the case in VetGeni

Record the visit and generate the SOAP or discharge as usual, then review it.

3

Send the finished note to Cornerstone

Click Send to Cornerstone on the reviewed document. The connector writes it into the Cornerstone medical record using your clinic’s confirmed template.

4

Verify in Cornerstone

Open the medical note in Cornerstone to confirm the entry before finalizing the record.
